CELTIC CONCERT WITH MASTER GUITARIST ARCHIE FISHER
Host of BBC’s “Travelling Folk”
The Camellia Inn in Healdsburg is the venue for a lively, winter Celtic concert on November 10th, featuring Scotland’s Archie Fisher. Fisher is a Master Guitarist, and one of Scotland’s foremost folksinger/songwriters. He is best known as the host of BBC Radio Scotland’s award-winning 'Travelling Folk' program, which he presented for over 25 years. He has been called “one of Britain's finest song interpreters.”
Fisher was born in Glasgow into a large singing family, which yielded three professional singers – Archie, and his sisters Ray and Cilla Fisher. In 2007, he was inducted into the Scots Traditional Music Hall of Fame and in 2006 was awarded an MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for services to traditional music. This legendary Scottish singer, songwriter, guitarist, producer and broadcaster will present both old, familiar tunes and new ones from his first album in seven years, “A Silent Song.”
Gather at 6:30 p.m. at the Inn; the “Travelling Folk” concert starts at 7:00 p.m. Cost is $20/per person in advance, or $25 at the door, and includes the evening’s music, beverages and dessert.
