Halloween Trivia: How much chocolate is sold in the U.S. during the week of Halloween? a) 54 million pounds, b) 90 million pounds, c) 1.5 million pounds

Answer – if you guessed “b” you are correct! Here at Camellia Inn, we are chocolate lovers, so we have done our part!

In fact, Lucy loves chocolate so much, we even have a Chocolate Covered Wednesday special, and the Inn has been voted the #1 chocolate venue in Northern California.

The Inn is decorated for the upcoming spooky day, and we’re expecting lots of trick-or-treaters to come to the door. Local merchants around the Plaza and beyond stay open later in the evening for little ghosts and goblins that trundle downtown.

If you can’t join us for Halloween (or for National Chocolate Day – October 28th), be sure to stay during one of our weekly Chocolate Covered Wednesdays. The package includes your mid-week lodging at the Camellia Inn and a breakfast repast of chocolate cherry clafouti or chocolate croissants. Indulge in assorted afternoon and evening treats such as freshly baked brownies and chocolate port in the parlor.

Here’s our treat for you -
Easy Chocolate Bread Pudding
4 c leftover brownies and good white bread cubed
3 c milk
3 Tblsp sugar
¼ c cocoa powder (unsweetened)
3 eggs
pinch salt
Put brownies and bread in a greased casserole. Heat milk slowly ‘til just ready to boil (don’t boil) and dissolve in cocoa and sugar. Remove from heat. Add eggs and salt and pour over bread and brownies. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes.
