It's not too early to book for the annual Harvest Fair – it’s a “sensational tasting experience” - Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 3rd -5th , 2014. You can taste the best of Sonoma County in one place! This popular fair is the equivalent of the Academy Awards for our area. http://www.harvestfair.org

Not only is March 8th and 9th, the WineRoad's annual Barrel Tasting Weekend, but the Raven Dance Extravaganza is happening right down the street from the Inn. With Innkeeper Lucy's, latest passion for dance, we know where she'll be that Friday and Saturday night. http://www.wineroad.com/

Our town made news on CNN about our lack of water here in Healdsburg. Rest assured that our city manager and the residents will make sure we don't run out. We'll keep you posted, but the rumored "Rain Dance" in the plaza seemed to work!

Do you love Pinot? May 24th and 25th is the Russian River Valley Winegrowers’ “Passport to Pinot” weekend. It’s a world-class tasting experience through local vineyards and redwoods along the Russian River. Look for amazing wines, fresh, local food, hospitality and exclusive experiences at participating wineries. For details and tickets, see: http://www.pinotclassic.com

Bravas Tapas continues its amazing Happy Hour, Sunday thru Thursdays from 3-6:00 p.m. It’s a great place for a late lunch or early dinner. Some of our favorites are only $1.75, a bargain for Healdsburg and just around the corner from the Inn. http://www.starkrestaurants.com/bravas.html

Prime Rib Mondays: Baci Cafe and Wine Bar continues this yummy tradition for a few more weeks. Only $29. http://bacicafeandwinebar.com/

We do love chocolate. In Honor of March 19th, National Chocolate Caramel Day, we offer this recipe from our kitchen:

Caramel Chocolate Turtle Pretzels. So easy!

Ingredients -

Square grid pretzels
Rolo candies
Pecan halves, roasted
Semisweet or white chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions -

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.Place one Rolo on a pretzel square. Repeat for as many as you like.Bake for 1 minute. Remove from oven and press a pecan half on top of each one. Press down enough so that the Rolos compress a little.

Let cool until chocolate is firm again. If desired, melt chocolate chips in the microwave and drizzle with a fork for garnish.

Yum!
