Our Recipe – using delicious cinnamon bread from Costeaux Bakery!
Breakfast Custard
I loaf Costeaux Bakery’s sliced cinnamon raisin bread (crusts removed)
1 cube butter, melted

¾ c. sugar
1 c. heavy cream
7 eggs + 3 egg yolks
1 Tblsp. vanilla
3 c. milk
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray or grease a 9x13 casserole dish. Layer the bread and melted butter in the dish (cut bread to fit). Combine rest of ingredients and pour evenly over bread. Place a shallow pan of water (a “Bain Marie”) in the oven – carefully place the casserole in the pan. Bake 1 hour. Let casserole sit for about 15-20 minutes before serving. Dust with powdered sugar. Can be served with a small pitcher of warmed maple syrup on the side. A rich breakfast treat!
