Robert Burns Weekend – February 12th 2017
Celebrating the Bard's Birthday
Celebrate the birthday of Scotland’s most famous bard with a Celtic dinner at the Camellia Inn in Healdsburg.
Attend the most elegant Robert Burns Dinner in Sonoma County -- an annual celebration at the Camellia Inn for over 20 years.
Begin with the Burns Supper on Sunday, February 12th, an evening of song, poetry and a traditional Scottish dinner, including a “Haggis Ceremony” featuring the highland bagpipes.
This traditional supper includes haggis (a traditional Scottish dish) and the recitation of Burns' poetry. The supper starts with the Scottish cock-leekie soup course. Following is the Entrance of the Haggis carried by the cook, while a bagpiper leads the way. The traditional dinner fare includes smoked salmon salad, mashed tatties and neeps and a dessert course such as cranachan or Tipsy Laird, all washed down with the "water of life" (uisge beatha). Live entertainment, speeches, toasts, Robert Burns' poetry and songs round out the dinner. From the soup to the trifle, Chef Hyman Lynch puts on a “good spread.”
The Robert Burns Special includes: one night's lodging, the Sunday evening Burns Supper with beverages, and a full breakfast the following morning. Rates are $265 for the Budget room, $350 for a Queen room; $425 for a King room (not including tax).
Cost to attend only the dinner is $85 per person, including tax and gratuity.
